Pilates

Pilates is a physical and dynamic way to become more aware of your body. It is a form of movement that focuses on the so-called strength center, also known as the “powerhouse. Posture, stability, coordination, breathing and focus on the body are the starting point. A strong core – the corset of muscles around your back, abdomen and hip/pelvis – gives you more strength and balance and reduces the risk of injury.

 

The movements are fluid and smooth, with exercises performed with concentration and conscious breathing.

The deeper muscles around the spine and pelvis are trained. Pilates is also effective for injury recovery or back pain because you train your muscles in a very controlled way.
